Life in Africa...still just "life"

I was thinking the other day about life in Africa and in Mozambique and how very different it is from where we grew up in Brazil or where we spent many happy years in Kentucky. At the same time, though, there are many things about life that are pretty much just the same everywhere. Here are some pictures of just regular "life" for us here in Mozambique.

Making cookies with two little boys...

Horsing around outside...

Helping Mommy make supper...

Waiting for Daddy to get home from work...

Wrestling with Daddy...

Calling up Grandpa and Grandma (on skype)...

I kind of think that we would be doing all these same things no matter where we lived. It's fun to think of it that way, at least...makes things a little easier sometimes.

Sure it is! When we moved around with our three boys in Brazil, there were times when I felt so unsettled and I would wonder, "Just where is home?" Then I realized that "home is where you are". I think it helped to make each new place familiar to the boys--the same curtains on the windows, same tablecloth on the table, same blankets on the beds, same order in the cupboards. As far as was possible, we'd cart toys from place to place, and I think our boys were very content. I think you two are doing the same thing, and that is good! Indeed, "home is where the heart is"--literally.
A big hug and love to all of you! We can't wait to see you in March!!
